The 6 milliseconds, step by step
  1. Colt taps to pay at Maria's café. His phone publishes intent: POST @marias-coffee $19.99
  2. Hylaq HQ planner runs. Both @handles are on Hylaq, USD, $19.99 in range — HYLAQ_DIRECT wins. Fallback chain prepared: FedNow → RTP → ACH.
  3. LoaditOS executes the in-network programmable transfer. Funds debit @colt, credit @marias-coffee atomically.
  4. Engine looks up the prev receipt hash for @colt, computes sha256(canonical(header) || prevHash), writes the new hash.
  5. Status flips to SETTLED. Both parties' phones get push notifications. Maria's POS prints the receipt with the verifiable hash.
  6. Total elapsed: 812ms. Total cost: $0.01. The transaction Visa would have charged $0.88 for and held for 2 days.
